National Day of Solidarity to End Immigration Detention: Saturday 18 October 2025

We’ve teamed up with Justice & Peace Scotland and Glasgow Solidarity Stall for an event in Glasgow, join us!

Saturday 18 October is the National Day of Solidarity to End Immigration Detention. Right to Remain, These Walls Must Fall and No To Hassockfield Campaign are co-organising the day. Across the UK, communities will come together to stand in solidarity with people harmed by the immigration system and to demand an end to detention.

In Glasgow, you can join Scottish Detainee Visitors and our friends Justice & Peace Scotland and Glasgow Solidarity Stall for an afternoon event at our offices in George Square.

At the event, there will be short speeches from each of the organisations, including those with lived experience of immigration detention. The speakers will be able to let you know about how you can get more involved in challenging detention. Afterwards, we will work together to write messages of solidarity to people in immigration detention. Our visitors will be able to take the messages to people in Dungavel. We know that people in detention really appreciate the support and solidarity of people in the community. There will also be template letters for you to take away to write to your MP, asking them to take action on immigration detention.

While we’re working, we’ll be able to enjoy some tasty snacks and drinks! To book your free ticket click here. We look forward to seeing you there!
